Compton Art & History Museum was always a dream of Abigail Lopez-Byrd’s. Abigail “Co-Founder” of Compton Museum held this within her heart for many years and that dream turned into a reality on February 18th 2023. Abigail is the founder of Color Compton a youth driven art and history non-profit. Which also operates as the parent organization to the museum.

Marquell Byrd Co-Founder of Compton Museum had the vision of starting an art & history museum early June of 2022 “God spoke to me, and led me to having the conversation with Abigail, who I never knew wanted to open a museum and after meeting with our board at Color Compton we took it a step further by acting on what God wanted us to do.”

The power couple are devoted to serving their community and show the youth everyday that they can do anything even in their own city!
